Rencontrez l'amour

In the summer of 2001, Rencontrez l'amour was founded downtown kortrijk; "texas" of flanders. Prior to the formation of the band, the members played in different groups, varying from death metal over punk to grunge. These different backgrounds contributed to the specific "nu" surf sound of Rencontrez l'amour. The band played its first gig in the spring of 2002 and since then they've played around in flanders. In march 2004 they released their first demo-cd "brazilian wax", which received three stars from phil dirt on "reverb central" (the leading american site for surf music). Unlike a lot of other instro-surf bands Rencontrez l'amour plays mainly own songs, but they complete their setlist with known covers such as nitrus from dick dale and intoxica from man or astroman.
